Old Business:
Tthe CBF state team qualifier was discussed. We will need to make a decision before August as to which of the three proposed formated we as a club, support.
The CFL tournament circuit was discussed. Tom asked if a club member wanted to fish the CFL tournament as club only, in other words, not be included in the CFL payout, could he do that? Jay answered yes, providing that person paid the CFL $10 a day for the percentage the CFL would normally get from one entry. That person could put money into a pot with other club members, such as $20, to go toward a club payout. This would reduce the expense to $30 a day rather than the CFL fee of $50 per person. The first CFL tournament is still scheduled as May 10-11 at Ute Reservoir. Entries need to be in at least 7 days prior to the start day or the tournament or your entry will not be allowed. It takes 7 days for the credit card charges to process, and be available for the tournament use, hence the 7 day cancellation period. The tournament will also be cancelled if less than 5 boats (10 persons) are registered no later than 7 days prior to the scheduled tournament dates. One person can fish by himself if he pays the team entry fee of $100 per day.
New Business:
Pikes Peak Bassmasters has asked the CBF for funds to improve a nearby lake. Brush Hollow, located near Pueblo needs improvements to the lake and parking areas, They have asked the CBF for $4500 for this project. The CBF needs BTR's opinion on funding. As a club we can elect to have the CBF a) Fund the project as requested, b) fund the project in a different amount, [we would need to specify a amount] c) no fund the project at all, or d) we can abstain from the decision. We discussed the project, it was brought up that the lake is quite small, not large enough for a federation activity, wakeless speeds, 4 to 5 boats maximum at one time. $4500 is a lot of money to put into such a small body of water that so few can use at one time. We decided to fund the project in the amount of $1000, and apply for state grants or matching funds from DOW or similar agency.
Southwest Bassmasters has asked the CBF for $2000 to fund a community events day where they would have a casting kids event . They would like to bring in a large tank similar to the one used at boat shows, to do casting demonstrations. We discussed the project and decided that this project, since it does involve youth, is more deserving of funds than one that does not involve kids and the future partisipants in the sport. However $2000 for a one day event is a lot to spend. We decided to fund the project in the amount of $1000.
This was our first meeting at the Chatfield Escape. All agreed that even though there was some noise from patrons and bar activities, it was much quieter and easier to hear what was going on than Q's pub.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at approx. 8:30pm.

New Business:
At the February meeting, it was decided to adopt the Colorado Fishing League tournament circuit as our own for the 2008 season. This was done in hope of being able to mix with other clubs and individuals to have successful tournaments with more than 2 or 3 boats. The minimum number of boats for a CFL tournament is 5. This curcuit is run by BTR member Jay McMillan, who is also the CBF President.. Jay received input from other potential conpetitors and asked if this could be a team or buddy curcuit instead of the current format of individual competition. Since Jay is doing this circuit primarily for BTR, Jay asked the club if they preferred the current individual format or a team format. The members present voted to change the format to a team format. Jay will post that change on the website.
The current CBF state team qualifier format will expire in 2010, amking 2009, the last year for the cuurent format. There are three proposals for new formats that were presented at the CBF board meeting earlier this month. The club needs to review these proposals and decide if the want to endorse one of the new formats or keep it the way it is. This decision does not need to occur until August.
The club has been meeting at Q's Pub in Littleton for some time now. We would hold our meetings on the patio area, and in the beginning this was fine. Over time, the pub has introduced activities that are very loud and disruptive on Wednesday nights. Tonights meeting was especially loud and no one could hear what was going on. We all decided a new location was needed. One of the prospective members, John, said he knew of another local bar and grill that might work out well. He would try to make arrangments for next months meeting to be held there. He will let Willie or Tom know and they will contact the other members with the new location.
Meeting adjourned at approx. 8:15pm.
